Battles in Survivors of Atlantis are battlefields simulated in a turn-based fashion.

Description

Battles start with both armies being opposite of one another on a battlefield. The battlefield's size is equal to the longest range of all troops included in the battle. Each turn every troop takes an action starting from the fastest and ending with the slowest. The battle ends either after 100 turns have passed or when all troops of one side of the battle are all dead.

Actions

Move

The unit moves forward until either an enemy is within range, or until its speed runs out.

Attack

The unit attacks an enemy troop within range.

Example

In a battle between Conscripts and Longbowmen the battlefield's size would be 1,200 because that's the highest range between the Longbowman's 1,200, and the Conscript's 0. Because the Longbowman's speed is 250 and the Conscript's speed is 200, the Longbowmen will go first.

The Longbowmen will Attack whilst the Conscripts will Move for 6 turns after which they'll have reached the Longbowmen. Then the Conscripts will also start to Attack which will continue until one of the sides has been wiped out, or 100 turns have passed.
